Is your LO's latch changing? Lately, I've been experiencing some pain when he nurses, and I think it's because he doesn't know how to suck without using his teeth. He's not biting (well, he does that sometimes, but he stops when I say "ouch!"), so I don't want to make him stop nursing, but it really hurts! I'd love any tips from anyone who has been through this and figured it out!
Also, he has 3 teeth (the 2 bottom ones and 1 upper middle, with the other upper middle one coming in).
Re: BFing moms of babies with teeth
Yes, but only on one side. Weird right?! It is soooo painful when she nurses on the right side but like you said, it isn't biting. I'm not sure what to do about it, or if there is anything I can do really. I just try to focus on why I am still bf'ing and how much I want to get to 1y whenever she nurses on that side. The benefit outweighs the pain, the benefit outweighs the pain . . . owwie!!
This is what I do too! I had terrible pain the first 6 weeks, so I thought I was past that, but maybe not. I might have to break out the old Lansinoh bottle.
