2nd Trimester

i am soooo uncomfortable!

anyone else feel this way? at night I get so uncomfy- my belly feels like its stretched to the max and I can't get in a comfy position to save my life. I've had a pretty great pregnancy thus far (thanks, LO!) but lately at night I am just TOTALLY uncomfortable. I have to switch positions like 87 times a minute!!

Re: i am soooo uncomfortable!

  • I'm completely with you. My strategy for tonight is to try and stay up until I am so exhausted that I go right to sleep. lol so here's to hoping it works. ;)
  • I agree 100%. I feel great all day until after dinner and then feel very stretched out and big. Heartburn always kicks in when I lay down which just adds to the discomfort.

ETA it makes me wonder what we're going to feel like 10 weeks from now!

  • i too feel so uncomfortable especially at night and whenever i wake up in the middle of the night trying to switch positions..my back hurts too. i like the idea of exhausting/or wait till im real sleepy before i sleep so i could not feel the discomforts before i doze off. this however could only work when im not working the next day and i could sleep until what time pr whenever i feel like it.

just a suggestion, try sleeping with as many pillows as you can, sandwich yourself in between them so that you could be locked in the position that you would wanna sleep in. also try to avoid drinking too much liquids (i cant do tis myself because i feel so warm) at night so that your tummy wouldnt feel so full. hope these suggestions help =)

i love you, my little mooncake mahal kita

  • I was feeling very uncomfortable while DH was home (he's deployed now) he insists on sleeping his way and I have to cuddle up to him. I've tried telling him as much as I would love to cuddle to him, sometimes it's just NOT comfortable. Since he's been gone I've surrounded myself in pillows. One supports my growing belly, one between the knees to keep my bones as level as possible and a pillow right behind me so if i roll over in my sleep my right hip is elevated. It doesn't all ways work but most of the time I'm comfy enough.

Ditto the "many pillows" suggestion.  Or you could get a pregnancy pillow.  My first preg I discovered that my back felt much better if there was a FIRM pillow between my knees.  My OB said it was because my pelvis had loosened, and the pillow kept the alignment for me so my back wouldn't scream.  This pg, I'm sleeping with three pillows now, and plan to add more as the hurts increase.  GL!!!

  • I'm starting to feel slightly uncomfortable now, just at night. It must be because I still remember how incredibly uncomfortable I was at 36+ weeks last time so this is nothing.
