Scheduled a 4D ultrasound...

for my 27th week of pregnancy, and was wondering if any of you had done it, if so about what week? was it clear? or would I just be wasting my money?

Those look SO COOL! I don't think my insurance would cover it, although they are covering my Level II 3D because I'm over the age of 35.

If I could get a 4D, I would. But I would rather put the $$ towards a postpardum doula.

I had one done to determine the gender and will go back about 34 weeks to do one that's more clear and see the face.

There are pictures in my baby blog if you want to see although there isn't much to see at 18 weeks. The ones I've seen later in pregnancy are really pretty neat. 

Make sure you drink lots of water. It helps.

I am having mie done at 30 weeks 3 days. I have seen friend's from 28-32 (which is what the place i am goin to suggests) and they all turned out reallycool. The tech said if you are closer to 28 weeks you can get some good full body shots and stuff like that and the closer youare to 32 you get mre details of face, hand, etc as the baby grows so much between those weeks. So, I chose 30 weeks so it would be in he middle. We will see on May 22 how my choice worked

 

Also, you can find some specials if you shop around - ours is only $99.00 wich includes as many good pic as they can get, a cd w/the pics, and a dvd of the ntire session.

Im going for one today and with DS I did a 3tri package so I did one at 12 weeks another at 18 weeks and again at 32 weeks and all were clear and really cool have fun!

I'm getting mine done at 29 weeks.  Every place I looked into recommended 28 to 32 weeks as the best time to get it done.  And most places have incurance policies so if you don't get good pics the first time then you can come back and get another free.

yay i did one yestesrday for gender identification, it was really inexpensive, only $47.99 and it included pictures, photo cd too! we want to go back later to get a better photo of the face. i enjoyed the experience of being able to see the baby moving around since they had it displayed on the large LCD tv. at regular ultrasound place i only was able to see on a small screen for a small frame of time since she was busy measuring and stuff.
