u/s at 6w0d?

Can you see a sac and/or hear a heartbeat at 6w0d? This is my next appt with the doc and I can reschedule for 8w3d if I want, but not in between. WWYD?

We really want to be able to tell our families when both parents are together for DH's MBA graduation at 11w, so if I go at 6 and don't hear HB, I won't have another appt before the party.

We saw the heartbeat at 6w2d.

Annecy, yes to both questions.  However, if you don't see anything that early, they will possibly ask you to reschedule within a couple of weeks.

Some people have seen the hb as early as 5w3d.

This is part of my sonagram at 6 weeks and 1 day. You can't see a whole lot, but you can definitely see the sac. My baby's heartbeat wasn't strong, but there was one. For some it's too early, and for some it may come in very strong. It just varies from person to person. Good luck!

I had mine at what I thought was 6w2d and although we couldn't see anything with the external u/s we saw the baby and heard a heart beat with the internal. But then they measured and said I was really 6w4d. I think it depends on how far along you really are. Good luck!!

They do in the US too. Though with mine it was hard to find it either way. We thought I was 10 weeks and I ended up being 6.

I had one last week at 6w exactly and could only see the sac.  I go again tomorrow to see if everything is ok.  If it were me, I would wait if you can.

Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to reschedule to the later date just to be safe. I'm in no rush to go in, it's more important to me that we see the HB before our parents come up at 11w.

annecy, I saw and heard a strong hb at 6w1d, but my RE had prepared me for not seeing anything that early.

Hi,

I just saw the gestational sac at 5wks when I did a sonogram last week.  I go for my follow-up on Thursday and hopefully by then hubby and I can hear the heartbeat. :-)

I went on 5 wks 5 days and saw the heartbeat.

i saw what i would call a flicker today (dr said she for sure saw a heart beat) at my u/s and im 5w 5d. i think everyone is different though. i didnt even have a sac or anything last week when i went in.
