Infertility

If your on Estrace & Prog, you shouldn't get AF , right?

I know, I know... it's probably a dumb question.  I'm on estrogen and progesterone right now... on the second week of my 2ww aftter IVF.  I've felt fleeting cramps a couple of times, but right now I feel more AF-ish cramps than before.  Just wondering if I can be hopeful... ?  Cause I mean, I shouldn't be getting AF on these meds right?

Sorry, I haven't been posting as much lately... work has got me hoppin' and DH and I had a jam packed weekend!!!

Hope you're each doing well as you can be!

  • I am somewhat sure that the progesterone keeps your period from starting. I am 99% sure I am not pregnant but I have to to keep taking the stuff until the BETA on Friday. I would have started today. I am usually pretty regular.

You can get your period when on those medications.

The only time I have not bleed through progesterone is when I am pregnant.

ETA: However, progesterone is known to delay a lot of women's periods.

  • I agree that you can get your period on those meds.

I got mine on Saturday after a negative Pg test on Friday.

Everyone is different though...stay hopeful and positive.

I thought AF would be delayed for awhile but I was happy that it come on Saturday so that I could quickly start #2.

  • I have done 7 cycles and have gotten AF for 5 of them, so it can happen. I hope it doesn't for you, and I hope you get your bfp :-) Good luck!
