Bring Temping Chart To 1st Appointment?

I am a first time mom-to-be to this is all so new and exciting!  I was just wondering if it is worth printing out my temping chart and bringing it with me tomorrow for my first appointment.  Will it help them determine my due date or anything like that or will they just look at me and say, thanks but we are professionals, we can figure it out!

Thank you for your advice in advance.

Re: Bring Temping Chart To 1st Appointment?

  • Do you run stangely long or short cycles? That would be the only reason I'd bring one.

  • I'm a first timer as well and was wondering the same thing.  I think I'll bring mine just in case.  Good luck at your app!!!  Mine isn't until May 18 (ughh)...I'll be 8 weeks around that time though so I hear thats pretty average.

  • I took mine and showed it to the doctor. She asked for the name of the website and a little bit about how entering your data works, but she didn't pay much attention to my ovulation date. She didn't even tell me a due date at my first appointment. I have an u/s tomorrow, so I think I'll take my chart again and see if we all agree on EDD!
  • I didn't chart, but I used ovulation predictor tests and know my approximate O date.  I have a 28 day cycle, but I O almost a week later than the sacred Day 14. ;)  I plan on telling the nurse this information, but I fully expect to be told "that's nice, but we're going with your LMP date".  I figure they'll change the date once I have an u/s and realize it's measuring a week behind what they think.

  • I took mine because my last cycle was very funky (I O'ed on CD 40).  The Dr. didn't look at it but he said that he usually relied more on what the mother thought than by the LMP.  Then he then told me that we'd have to wait for an official EDD until we could have an early u/s, which won't be for a few more weeks.
  • I'm taking mine. My cycles are pretty regular but I O'd on CD 17 this time. This will be my frist time meeting my OB and I dont want her telling me I'm measuring behind and stressing me out. Its only 2 days off but I need them to be on target. I'm a little OCD.

ugh, I really don't get this. Why do doctors go more by LMP than a chart with temps sitting there in front of them? Esp if you ovulated on CD 40?

I'll bring mine, but luckily I ovulated on CD 17 this time so it won't really make a difference (I have ovulated on CD 40 in the past, though, and I'd have been pissed if they didn't take that into account.)
