I am almost 21 weeks and have been feeling kicks since 17.5 weeks. However, I have no clue what the baby's position is - and her kicks (I guess they could really be punches, head butts, etc) are starting to change positions.
When were you able to distinguish where the baby's head, butt, foot, etc were?
Re: When were you able to distinguish body parts?
Ok - I'm glad to hear that it is normal to have no clue!
I have just been reading posts about people know early (someone said they could tell at 17 weeks - I gave that statement the side eye for sure) and was starting to think I was either stupid or something was wrong!
I can, but I wasn't able to with ds until late 3rd tri.
A couple things I know, pointy is elbow/knee/etc. If it's really hard and doesn't really move when you push on it, it's probably a butt.
And if it's large and hard and moves when you push on it (like moves down and then floats back up when you let up, kinda like a bobble! lol) it's the head.
hth!
I agree. I found it hard to believe too.
Agreed, I think this is the same as knowing "for sure" that it's a boy/girl. You're just guessing really, but there are only so many options.
I have no idea what is a foot vs. an elbow, I think it would be a little creepy to be able to tell.

THIS- I get a kick out of those who have so much movement at 8-9 weeks...uhm really?
My BFP Chart
Same for me.
If this is who I'm thinking of all her posts are like that, she sure knows a lot about everything for it being her first.
I honestly never really knew with DS unless it was after an ultrasound and I knew which way he had been laying. After 32 weeks, I could tell when it was his butt or his head, sometimes his feet, bot otherwise I had no clue other than knowing he was flipping over or kicking. It's fun to watch at any rate, and I was a "fetus tormenter" that used to poke to get him to move. Hey, it's uncomfortable to have a butt sticking straight out of your belly and a foot in your ribcage! LOL
Ditto. I don't think happens until pretty late.
