OMG! Just heard the heartbeat!

Okay, I'm really excited!

My friend is about 21 weeks pregnant and we went over to her house last night and she has a Sonoline handheld pocket fetal doppler. She said that she's listened to the heartbeat so much that I could borrow it from her for as long as I wanted. She knows how nervous I am about this pregnancy because I've had a m/c before.

I asked her when she started using it and she said she thought she was about 6 or 7 weeks along and that she heard the heartbeat right away, but I thought maybe she forget when she used it because everything I've read said you can't hear it til about 9 or 10 weeks.

But DH and I thought tonight, what the heck? We'll try it and not freak out if we can't hear it...

And it totally picked up the heartbeat! I found it in like 30 seconds...if you guys have access to one, you should try it...it was awesome because we haven't heard it at the doctor's office yet (first u/s is in 2 wks). I found the heartbeat a few inches below my belly button to the left (I'm sure everyone is a little different) and if you push a little hard on it and change the angle of the wand, you can probably find it.

Anyway, sorry so long. I'm just stoked!
