BEWARE: Allergic to Palmer's Cocoa Butter Lotion

Earlier this morning I made a post about having this awful rash that won't go away.  The more I thought about it the more I realized it has to be the new Cocoa Butter Lotion I started using a few days ago.  I had never had this problem before and low and behold when I start using it I get a rash in the areas I've been applying it.  It wasn't that apparent to me at first because it only started out on my stomach.  Throughout today I noticed that it had spread to my back, bottom and thighs.  Beware ladies if you have sensitive skin!

  • (Lurking and eager to come over from the 1st tri-board!)

I had this same problem!  I was miserable for about 3 days until I realized the only thing I had changed in my routine was the intro of the Cocoa Butter Lotion.  Once I cut it out, the rash went away.  I have had a lot of luck with Alba lotion products.

  • yeah, they put a warning on the tube about that and tell you to put it in a small area first  to see if you react.

I personally couldnt' stand the smell so I didn't buy it anyway.

Glad I am not the only one. I think is smells nasty!

  • I had this problem too but not with Cocoa Butter.  I started using a strong smelling lotion after becoming pregnant and broke out into a very itchy rash.  A few days after I stopped using the lotion the rash went away.  My OB said your skin becomes more sensative when you are pregnant.

  • I just posted a warning the other day about Vaseline cocoa butter vitalizing gel body oil... I'll just add it to your warning here.  I got a rash and so did my 7 year old daughter who used it to give me a foot rub- so it's not just pregnancy!  A lot of the amazon reviews warned of getting a bad rash- but there was no warning on the bottle.

  • Like PlainandTall I had a reaction to the Vaseline cocoa butter oil.

  • omg. i just bought that yesterday, i dont have any stretch marks, but noticed my skin around my belly button looking a little red so i picked that up becuse Bio-oil was twice the cost for a quarter of the bottle. ive only used it twice and so far im ok.  but i'll keep an eye out for any rash.

    thanks for the heads up
