Coughing and sinus congestion- can I take anything?

I forget. I know tylenol is ok, but is Sudafed or anything? I could hardly sleep last night.

And I have sciatica on both sides too which is awful! DH and DS are sick, and DS has molars coming in! UGH! I'm dying!

Re: Coughing and sinus congestion- can I take anything?

  • I can't remember, but I really try not to take anything in the 1st tri.  Too much is going on and developing, it scares me.  I've been using NeilMed nasal rinse and it's helping a lot.

  • This is the site I usually reference and it says no to Sudafed. I know I took something last pregnancy when I was sick, but I can't remember. You might try calling your doctor and see what they say.

  • The WTE site says that medicines containing pseudoephedrine are probably not safe to take during the 1st tri, but I know that Sudafed does make decongestants that don't contain it. Saline nasal spray is safe too.
