2nd Trimester

Babymoon at 33-34 weeks?

We just won a 7 day trip to Maui at a charity auction and can only use it from June through December.  I will be 33 weeks the first week of June.  Is this too late for a 5 hour flight to Hawaii? Anyone take a babymoon this late? I don't even know if my doctor will approve but I will ask him at my Monday appointment.

  • I wouldn't hesitate as long as you are complication free at that point. Chance of preterm delivery before 34 weeks is very small.  As far as the flight, I would just make sure you fly first class for the extra room and easy access to the bathroom.
  • Most airlines and insurance companies are good with travel until 36 weeks.  Just verify before you book that a) the airline is okay and b) if something were to happen, your insurance would cover it.

I agree though, if you're complication free, go and enjoy!  I'm jealous!

this!  As for the first class though, I am not sure it is completely necessary.  It is a nice bonus if you can swing the upgrade.  Either way just make sure you get up and move around.  Sweet trip to win!

  • That is awesome!  Congrats!

We are taking ours June 9th-12th as long as Funjet oks it.  We also won our trip!  It is to the Riviera Maya.

  • Congrats on the trip!!

I think it really depends on the person...I personally don't know if I could make the 5 hour flight (my back has been reallllly sore if I sit too long). I would only really be worried about the travel, but again, it all depends on your body and how you are feeling! GL!

As long as your doctor gives the ok I would definitely go asap. You probably don't want to wait til after the baby.
