So my friend lives is Boston and we live in Florida now. My parents go to visit my sister alot so everytime they go my friend gives my my mom a bunch of things to bring back like two bags full each time. So now that DD has grown out of alot of things. I asked her what she wanted me to do with them. She wants me to hold onto them. The problem is we don't really have room to store things and I'm bring a bunch of stuff to the consignment store. I was thinking of packing it all up and sending to her but it's prob going to cost alot. My mom does not want to bring the stuff back she complained about lugging it back home to us.
Right now I have a pampers box 140 diapers full of cloths she gave me any idea on how much it would cost to mail back ????
What would you do?
Re: Hand me downs (kind of long)
I shipped a large box from NH to GA of baby clothes and I think it was around $35.
You can have more than one carry on if you have a baby-- diaper bag plus a personal item like a purse or other larger bag.
This was my suggestion. My sister and I have sent clothes back and forth to each other and that is the cheapest route usually since you can pack clothes in there nice and tight to fit a lot.
Why don't you tell her you don't want them? Sounds like she doesn't want them and she thinks she's doing you a favor for if you have future children.
If you don't want them and she doesn't want them, I would try selling them on Craig's List, taking them to a consignment store (you really get ripped off at these places though), or take them to a church for their bazaar. Any money you make give it to her, split it, or she may tell you to keep it (since they are your clothes now).
I wouldn't shell out the 25 or so dollars and she ends up not wanting them.
Why don't you just tell her that while you'd love to hang on to them you don't have them room to store them and therefore need to mail (or take them with you) back to her.
PP suggestion of the flat rate box is a good one. I think the larger square one (same size as the APO one) is $12.95 to ship no matter what the weight.
