Dumb question...

Are burp cloths the same as cloth diapers?  I wanted to pick some plain white ones up, add some cloth to it to make it cute and make it into burp cloths - but now I'm not sure what I'm supposed to get as the base. Help?

 

Can you tell this is my first LO... lol!

These are three of the burp cloths my mom made for LO. They are just the white cloth diapers. She got them from BRU and just sewed the material and ribbon on them.

Thank you guys!  I got super confused at the store and wasn't sure what to get.  Diaper cloths it is...

 Jo - that's exactly what I was planning to do. Adding cloth to the bottom and maybe sides/back (depending on how adventurous I am since I'm not really a sewer).  You're mom did great - super cute!

yep, cloth 'diapers' are burp cloths (take the Gerber brand for example).  i've never known anyone in our baby making generation to actually use these as cloth diapers.

Those are cute. I was thinking of making some of my own like that.

OP, Any burp cloths are fine. The "diapers" are nice and thick for spit up, and will help save your clothes.

I think I was told receiving blankets are burp cloths too.. I got a couple for my shower and had nooo idea what they were used for..

I didnt know that cloth diapers = burp cloths as well..news to me!

She's not much of one either, but she made tons and it didn't take her long to do them. Plus she said it was a fun little project.

You can use them for extra absorbency in AIOs, pockets and for prefolds in covers. Check out the EFF blog/board.
