zantac & drowsiness?

My dr. put me on zantac for allergies...itchiness, specifically.  I have been doooog tired the last few days.  I just wake up tired.  I go to bed at 9:00 or 9:30, wake up at 5:30 and feel like I haven't slept.

Do you mean zyrtec? Zyrtec is an allergy medicine. Zantac is for heartburn.

I've been on zyrtec forever... somewhere around 10 years now. I don't notice the tiredness anymore. I'm allergic to everything, and I get itchy within a couple hours of forgetting to take it in the morning. I actually think I'm more tired when I forget because my body uses so much energy fighting my allergens.

no, I mean zantac.  a secondary use for the medicine is a histamine blocker.  I'm also on Xyzal for allergies but I have had all-over body itching since last Thursday.

Huh. I had no idea. I've been taking zantac almost daily for bad heartburn. I didn't notice a change in my allergies at all. I wonder if that's make me more tired, or if it's just typical pg exhaustion.

I take ranitidine (zantac) daily for allergies/itch/skin sensitivities.  I'm always tired, but I don't think it's the med.  I'm pretty sure it's the 13 month old who still doesn't sleep through the night.
