How/when to tell...

Okay, here's my CWH challenge post...

A friend of ours has been dating this guy for a few months, and they "accidentally" got pg (she says her doc told her it wouldn't happen bc she has endo, but part of me believes she actually wanted to get pg).  Well the guy freaked out and said he wasn't ready for a baby.  She had an abortion but was really unhappy about it.  He was super sweet to her before the abortion, and now he's being a real jerk, so she thinks he  was only being sweet so that she would agree to the abortion.  She would have been 1 1/2 weeks ahead of me.  3 days after her abortion I got my BFP.  She's been really upset, regrets having the abortion, and now she has major baby fever.  I feel really bad for her.  I've never had an abortion but I do know what it's like to want a baby really badly, and to be pg and then not pg.

 

Anyway, my dilemma is that now I don't know when or how to tell her.  She's a really "poor me" kinda person, and even though I'm sure she'll be happy, I'm not looking forward to her bad vibes.  So I just want to find the nicest way to tell her (then what she does with that info is up to her).  I want to make sure I'm not being insensitive, ya know?

I would wait till you're 12 weeks. that way it will give your friend some time to deal with her loss. It will be a little sad for her no matter when you tell her but you can't hide it forever and I'm sure she will still be happy for you.

I agree! Hopefully it will allow her a little grieving time before she can celebrate with you.
