If you have the Fisher Price Lamb Swing - question

Does it make a loud clicking noise and does it take a while to get "swingin"?  Do you sorta have to give it a nudge for it to really get started?  I just put the batteries in ours today and it is making the clicky noise and seems slow to get going.  Once it gets going, it's fine, but I just found that a little strange.

  • Mine did that.  I think it was ok, but mine also swung REALLY fast!  I got it from a friend who also complained of the same thing.  Never heard anyone else with it mention it, so it may have just been mine.  Even when I turned it on the lowest setting possible it swung so fast that I was afraid it was going to throw my newborn in the floor!  I ended up getting a graco and craigslisting the Lamb Swing.  I hope your's works better than mine - I REALLY loved it otherwise.

  • We had the Natures touch one- just a previous version of the lamb one I think.  Yes it did this.  Funny thing, it seemed really loud to us when we set it up before he was born, but after he was here, I never noticed it!  I think having a baby really changes your sense of sound or something-lol.  As for it taking a while to get going, I know this sounds weird too, but I think having the baby in it actually makes it go faster- the weight must affect it.  And YES, I do remember this thing going pretty fast and it scared my mother to death.  But he liked it.  But yeah, we mostly kept it on the lowest setting because of that.

Ditto everything! Love that swing, though!

  • I cranked ours all the way up to high and yeah it does go really fast, lol!  And I think having the weight of the baby in there makes sense actually - it'll probably run smoother once she's in there.  I like all of the little nature sounds it makes.  It's so soft, too!
  • We have this swing and the nature's touch swing. Graham loves them both. I thought it was too fast and high when he was a newborn. A friend told me to hang a blanket off the end of the swing so it touched the floor and it would slow it down. Worked like a charm until he got older and wanted it to go faster.

  • DS loved this swing. When we first set it up (before he was here), we thought it went way too fast. After we brought him home, though, we found that he liked it fast. Also, that clicking sound was actually soothing for DS. My only complaint about it was that it does take a long time to get going. I actually found that if I nudged it, it took longer to get going. Weird.
