I'm having my two best friends from college and their guys over on Friday just for some appetizers and wine. (We are actually doing it so we can meet the "new guy" one is getting serious with!)
I feel like all my go-to apps. are just too old at this point! One friend is bringing Texas Caviar (a bean salad) so far.
What are you favorite (fairly simple) apps to make/serve? I was going to make fondue, but I can't really eat cheese or chocolate
Thanks all!!
Re: Appetizer party- rec your fav. recipe!!
I'm throwing a wine party next month and making the following:
goat cheese & fig preserve brushetta
warm crab dip with crackers
flourless chocolate brownies
fruit with cream cheese dip
veggie pinwheel wraps
baked brie with apricot jam and crackers
buffalo chicken roll-ups
if any of that sounds appealing I can give you a recipe

Gonzo garbanzos. I've made a batch of these for just about every party we've had since 2007:

I make these mini-caprese tomato thingies:
cherry tomato halved, small slice of fresh mozzarella, basil leaf, other half of tomato...put a toothpick through it.
The garbonzo beans and mini caprese tomatoes look awesome!
Most of mine has cheese, including this one, but I'm adding it anyways.
Smoked salmon tray - Smoked salmon, table water crackers, cream cheese, horseradish, red onions, caper. You don't have to make anything - just put it on a tray and people make their own. Easy and yummy.
Sometimes I'll steam artichokes and serve it with roasted garlic mayo (just roast garlic and mix in the mayo) and red wine/garlic mayo (just add red wine to your roasted garlic mayo).
