This might be dumb....
I know I'm 15 dpo because I've been charting. But online, it says that means I'm 4 wks pregnant because they count the weeks from the beginning of last period. So I'm confused. Am I 2 wks pregnant or 4 wks pregnant?
And then, when I go to the Dr for the first ultrasound will he measure the baby and give me the "real" number of weeks pregnant that I am?
Re: How many weeks?
Your doctor will likely give you a date based on your LMP which can be adjusted based on a dating u/s to see if you are further ahead/behind than that. They usually won't adjust unless you are measuruing more than a few days off.
You are now 4 weeks if you are 15dpo. It's odd, but the two weeks before you O'd are counted as pg weeks.
So basically you go to bed not being pg and wake up somewhere around 4 weeks when you test in the morning, lol.

You are 4 weeks pregnant. Your doctor will measure it the same way, counting the weeks from your LMP. Even if you charted they will probably count from the LMP unless it is off by more that a week. My due date is 4 days off from what I calculated based on my ovulation date, but since it's under a week they don't adjust.
At my first ultrasound the baby only measured 1 day off from what I had calculated based on my chart, however since it was still under that week mark they didn't change my due date which was calculated from my LMP.
HTH!
Always Sunny's back b-tches!
It is funny how they date pregnancies, that's for sure.
I get confused by being 4w2d and also having it referred to as being in the 5th week.
If you hear them talk about gestational age, that simply refers to the time from conception. So while you're 4 weeks pregnant right now, your baby is 2 weeks old gestationally.
I just asked relatively the same question. I'm so confused
Hopefully we can figure it out soon.
Good Luck!
This. The system they use is helpful for all those people who aren't charting their brains out and poas like it is their job and know exactly when they ovulated.
