Upstate NY Babies

so I bought a moby wrap

I am determined to wear L..but can you do baby facing forward in it?

I think that may have been the issue with the bjorn (that and his little legs were rubbing)- I kept trying to put him toward me and i think he's just too busy and wants to look out...maybe I should go buy the bjorn I just returned and try him facing out? (::forehead slap:: should have done it before I returned it but it didnt occur to me..)

thoughts on the moby?

Re: so I bought a moby wrap

  • I know people say it's easy to wrap...but it just looks like too much of a PIA to me. I have two cousins with babes and they wear theirs all the time - facing both in and out. They swear by them. Plus - DH likes to wear the baby too...and he's not into a wrap.

I think I may get a nice one soon. We just use one from Target right now.

  • I have an ergo too- but his legs are just too little to spread across my tummy and be comfortable...and I tried him in the frog position but he kicks me enough during the night...and he was struggling to free his legs...

  • Can  he hold his head up? I think that is the big thing with the bjorn and looking out.

I could be wrong, but I believe C co-sleeps, but not while wearing him.  ;-)

That would've been new to me - but I do think a moby would be the most comfortable!

  • sorry I re-read it and I was not clear...LOL

I dont wear the wrap/carrier to bed- I just meant that he kicks me during the night and when I tried him in the frog-leg style- he was kicking me...so i didnt want to be kicked during the day too...

  • You can definitely wear it so he is facing out.  If you bring it when we get together in a couple of weeks I can help you with it.  It's really not that hard once you do it a few times.  L loved it and I still bring it with me everywhere, although I don't use it much anymore.

  • ^ I meant facing out. As long as his head control is good.

I am running on zero sleep today!

  • I really want a Moby wrap!  There are also tons of videos on youtube on how to wrap for different holds.  I have some bookmarked, but I don't have access to youtube at work or else I would give you some links.

  • I was going to suggest the Youtube videos as well, there are a ton on there, I can't wait to get a Moby!  I have an infantion carier now, but DD just doesn't seem comfy in it, plus its a bit bulky...
  • I'll have to try the moby with L facing out, I had a hard time figuring out how to face her in with the wrap, but that would be more comfortable for both of us than the bjorn, I think.
  • I really could never figure the moby out to the point where I felt really secure with her in it.. I did wear her facing out once she was big enough.. L may  be a little small yet to face out? I just always felt like she was sagging down to my knees in it.
