s/o diaper pail bag - (stupid?) question about smells

I got a Wet Happens bag and when I unzip it, it smells like amonia.  You all assured me that was normal, so I am fine.  We only use it when we are out anyway and in our condo, the laundry room is right next to DD's room.  Since we most cd on weekend, I really just drop the diapes in the washer after I take them off.

But we bought a house (YAY!) and laundry is in the basement.  So I think we need a pail liner, but how do they hold smells in?  Or do smells only come from closing the wet bag?

Yeah, it is a stupid question but my brain can't think of the answer and you all would know, so be nice, I am way too tired to think for myself :)

Re: s/o diaper pail bag - (stupid?) question about smells

  • It's the lack of air circulation in the wet bag that makes them stink.  Your pail shouldn't stink like a wet bag.  We don't have a lid on our pail and have zero stink.
