    oh no!  that's crazy.  well, i am in IT, so maybe i can help you!

     go to tools > Internet options > Connections tab > click on LAN settings > the box for Automatically Detect should be unchecked

     at least that's what I did for certain sites, and it seemed to work.  just refresh your browser after that...hope this helps!
