Swim Lessons in North Dallas/Richardson/Plano area

Any recs for toddler swim lessons in either north Dallas, Richardson, or Plano? I've found some online, but I'd much rather have a rec from you ladies. Thx!

Re: Swim Lessons in North Dallas/Richardson/Plano area

  • We do them at the Y, b/c that's where I have a gym membership and the lessons are so cheap. I've heard that Emler is great too. Another option is too look around in your neighborhood, or one close by for someone who teaches private lessons in their own pool. I think that's what we are going to do this summer.
  • We go to Ms. Rosey.  Love, love, love her!  She's in Richardson.

Last summer I enrolled my oldest (he was 4yo) through the rec center, they were horrible.  They never made them even put their heads under water.  After those two weeks were over I enrolled him with Rosey.  By the end of the first week he was swimming across the pool without help.

I've already got my oldest and my 3yo enrolled for two weeks in June.  This summer my boys are going to be in the same group with their cousin who is about to turn 4.  (This is also her 2nd year with Rosey.)

Her prices have gone up, but only by $5/week.  She charges $80/week now.  Totally worth it.

She only has max 4 in the pool at a time.  She also has an assistant who has been with her for years, who is in the pool with her and the kids.

  • We will be starting swim lessons this summer at Emler.  They have locations in Dallas (Preston/Forest), Plano (Park & Preston, I think?), and now Frisco.  Everyone I know that has taken their LOs there love it!

  • I personally haven't taken DS to any swim lessons but my sister and friends take their LO to Emler swim school.  I believe they took them to the location off Park/Preston. They were very happy with the lessons and have taken their kids back again for more lessons. I went to watch my neice once at her swim lesson and it looked like she really enjoyed it.  She was 2 yrs old at the time.
