Trying to Get Pregnant

Now I'm bored, anyone want to chat?

Weekend plans? How you met your husband? Summer travel plans? Anything?

I'm just waiting for DH to get home from work so we can go out for date night! (Maybe afterward we can do the 'Dance of the Baby' Devil). I'm just kidding, I officially hit my 2WW and DH is not touching this until next cycle. I'm exhausted! :)

...I'm also thinking that it's kind of creepy that the devil face is made with a 6. I mean it makes sense, but it's weird.

Re: Now I'm bored, anyone want to chat?

  • I'm waiting for DH to get home also, which should be any min. now. I agree that the devil face being made with the 6 is a little creepy.

Awe, your dogs are adorable. What kind are they? DH and I are going to get a golden soon. He had one growing up and insists that we get one. I would be content with any dog, although I did have grey hounds growing up and I LOVE that bread. They are awesome!

  • Thanks! The one on the left is Jasper, he is 5 years old and a mutt and we aren't really sure what he is. Buster is on the right, he is a year and a half old a German Sheppard mix. Both are rescue dogs.

My boss has a rescued greyhound and loves him. I couldn't imagine not having a dog anymore. When are you going to get your Golden?

Within the next month or so. I have always had rescued adult dogs and I would like to rescue, but I'm feeling kind of selfish and really want a puppy. (Mabe to temporarily fill the baby gap?) So since golden puppies are not something easily found at the local pound, DH is scouring the internet for rescue goldens. He's found a few so he just needs to decide and act on it.

We did just get our hardwood floors refinished so I think he's trying to postpone it as long as possible, because he knows having a dog will just scratch up the floors again. But he does want a dog really bad so I'm sure it will be soon!

We actually are about to replace all of our carpet with hardwood. Our house is about 4 years old, and we weren't the origonal owners, so we would really like to replace the carpet soon. We'll probably do that within the next few months. I'm really scared of what the youngest dog will do to them. He is a destroyer.

I just re-read your OP and saw it asked for summer vacation plans. We are actually going to Ireland next month. I've never been anywhere in Europe and am super excited. Do you have any vacation plans yet?

  • I'm just hanging out here and on FB, watching the Yankee game with DH, and DS is laying in our bed watching Wow Wow Wubzy.  We went to the circus today so we all had late naps and will have a late dinner.  I better start thinking about dinner though - it'll probably be a Lean Pocket night!

This summer we're going to western NY for my 10 year college reunion!  I am so freakin' excited!!  DH has seen where I went to college once when we went for my suitemate's wedding.  It is my favorite place on earth :)  Other than that I have a lot of friends and family coming to VA to visit this summer - it's going to be an awesome summer!

  • We really want a golden too!  We were going to get one this spring, but now that we've decided to TTC #2, I think we should wait a little bit.  I just don't have it in me to chase around a 3 year old, be PG, and housetrain a puppy.  I can't even potty train my child ;)

Awesome! Ireland has always looked so pretty to me, I would love to go there some day!

We actually just went to Hawaii from January 1st-16th so now we need to rebuild our finances and start a baby fund! I think we might do a canoe trip down the WI river again (we did it last summer and it was a blast!) Other than that, I guess we are just laying low. DH has a profession in Agricultural Science so he's really busy in the summer doing crop stuff.

What Island did you go to? We really debated going to Hawaii for our honeymoon but ended up on an Alaskan cruise instead. Polar opposite I know.

I don't know why but I laughed out loud at the thought of you watching a Yankees game and YH watching Wow Wow Wubzy. It just seems kind of backwards to me, but its awesome that YH and YS spend time together like that!

My college is only 20 mins away from were we live now so MH seeing it isn't really exciting. But he is having his 11 year renioun (him and his old frat brothers) and I'm going to go this year as well. So I get a peak into what his life was like back then... :) Awesome that you get to take YH though! Sounds like fun!

I do wonder if I could handle being PG and having a puppy but I will just take it as it comes.

I hear from a friend who "knows everying" (you know the type...) that the best way to potty train a kid is to just let him run around naked and pee on himself. I actually do know a few people who have done this and I guess it worked. I don't think I would ever do it though... :)

Haha, that was my thought exactly! It was amazing! We went to Kauai and Oahu. Kauai was my favorite. It was so intimate and not touristy at all. We had a little cabin all to ourselves right on the beach. The food was amazing and we did this incredible hikes to amazing waterfalls and scenic overviews. It was the best vacation of my life. I highly recommend going to anyone. Especially if you are the outdoorsy type. Oahu was super busy and touristy. Kind of like Chicago. I wasn't a big fan of that island bc you pretty much can do everything here that they offer there.

Is that how you met YH? Hehe, just kidding. That pretty much sounds like my summer too.

  • I was just reading wi-mommy's post and I see that you are also in Wisconsin!  Maybe we have enough Sconnies to do a GTG!!

I love the Chicago ladies, but driving 2 hours each way really gets the best of me sometimes.

That would be awesome! I wouldn't do so well driving 2 hours both way either.

  • I just got back from Target and overspent (as usual).  Earlier I got a pedi and saw my hairdresser for my new color and now I am about to make some sides for this impromptu bbq we are having.

We haven't finalized a trip for my birthday but we are looking at Costa Rica or Vegas.  We went to Vegas in March for DH's birthday so I'm thinking Costa Rica, here we come!!!

I agree, the devil face thing is wierd.

I hope you all have a blast at date night...date nights are so fun!!!!!

Actually DS was in our room alone watching it :)  He loves to lay in our bed and watch TV!  Potty training will come eventually - I never met a boy at college who was still in diapers ;)

Have fun at your DH's frat reunion!  I'm kind of afraid to give DH a peek into what my life was like then.  We're even staying in the dorms with one of my old roomies, her DH, and DS, and we were quite the crazy bunch!!
