I am confused about the mini pill

I am currently on the mini pill, but for 2 weeks have been supplementing LO with formula during the day b/c I am back to work.  She STTN, so no BFing during the night, so I only really BF about 3 times a day now.  (no pumping in place of feedings either) I think my supply is ok and has adjusted to this b/c she seems to be eating just fine on me and happy.  Should I contact my doc to get off the mini pill?  Do I need to switch to something else?  He didnt really go over this with me?

I don't get the problem...if its working for you, why switch?  Do you not want to be on the pill?

I read somewhere that if you start to wean, then you should talk to your doctor about switching to something else..I dont know the details or reasons, but just read it and since she is getting the majority of food from Formula, I wasnt sure...sorry, I was just confused..

my OB said once you stop or slow down BFing and AF returns your period can be heavier than normal and sometimes off due to an imbalance in hormones.  It does not happen to everyone but she said it can be annoying and at that point you may want to switch.

I just got the mini pill yesterday and my NP said that once you start weaning you have a huge target on your back.

My OB told me that if I were starting to wean to come back and start on another type of BC pills. He said that the risk is just too high on the minipill alone. He also stated that he puts the majority of PP women on regular combo pills and has only had 2 women complain of their supply dropping.

It definitely wouldn't hurt to call the nurse at your OB's office and ask!!

My doctor said that if I cut down feedings to less than half the time BFing to stop using the mini pill and start looking at other contraceptive options.  I think this would definitely count in your case.

my doctor told me I just needed to breastfeed twice a day for the mini pil to still work for me. My nurse told me when she went back to work she only nursed when LO woke up and once before bed and that was all you need. I was worried about this to.
