Doctor appt Rant! (kinda long, sorry)

The OB I had during my pregnancy with DS moved out of state at the end of last year.  I loved everything about her, and her practice and was sad to see her go.  Got my BFP for baby 2 last week and have since started the process of finding a new OB.  With the insurance that I have, I had never met  or visited the doctor they had listed as my "primary care provider" because I haven't been to a regular doctor in years.  Called on Wednesday to make an appt with PCP to confirm pregnancy (required by insurance) and to get a referrel to a new OB.  They set me up for an appt this morning.  I showed up 20 minutes early to the appt to fill out whatever paperwork, didn't get called back for 45 minutes after scheduled time--no one else was waiting, I was the only patient.  Once being taken back, the nurse did all her usualy stuff.  When the doctor finally came in she was SUPER rude and didn't want to listen to any of my questions or concerns.  She gave me the EDD of December 2nd even though I tried to tell her several times I have only had 2 periods since DS was born and both were only 3 days.  She than proceeds to refer me to an OB that will not deliver to the hospital I want to deliver at (there are 3 hospitals in the area).   

Sorry to rant but I am super frustrated.  I know have to find my own OB and hope they will see me without a referrel because I am not going back to the office, ever.  I was lucky enough to find online that my insurnce has 2 other OBs that are through the same practice as my previous OB.  Calling Monday to try to get an appt.  Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Call your insurance company. Tell them you would like to deliver at XYZ hospital what OB can they refer you to. Explain your situation. They can help. If they say they can't, ask to speak to a superior.

Ugh, I'm sorry you had a crappy appointment.  Hopefully you find a new OB that you love!

That sucks.  It's like Knocked Up, where she goes around interviewing all these whack jobs before she finds the right OB for her (and, really, the only normal one). 

Sometimes doctors forget that we're not case studies????
