Hi everyone! I don't post much but wanted to get some suggestions as some of you may have been in my position.. So my little boy has decided he no longer wants to sleep in his own room and it takes hours to get him to sleep in his room, only for him to cry a few hours later and the only rememdy is to lie him next to me in my bed. Now that I am expecting #2 I am concerned that this will be a constant battle and I am even more concerned that he will be this way once the new addition arrives. I have tried giving him warm baths and reading/singing to him and rocking him in his room where the light is dim and it is quiet.. but no luck this far. Oh.. and he only sleeps from 9:30/10ish to 6:30... So is this normal and do you have any other suggestions! Thanks so much!! Happy Friday.

Her technique worked for us when Ferber didn't (DS got way upset and overtired with Ferber) DS sleeps about 11 hours straight every night.

Does he fall asleep at 9:30 or go to bed at that time?
My suggestion is to start bed time a little earlier every night until it's at a reasonable time. He could be over-tired and that's why it's an issue. What are nap times like?
Keep a consistent bed time routine for at least a week. Same story, same order of events.
This too shall pass. Good luck.
Thanks so much. He falls asleep at 9:30. Thats after I give him a bath.. and he struggles with me for a few hours. For about 2 weeks (about a month ago) it was going well when I was giving him a bath at 7:30/8:00 and he would be asleep as soon as I dressed him and rocked him for about 5 mins. Now he drinks his bottle and when I think he is fast aleep he tosses his bottle and points to the door (I am thinking because he wants to go to my room) So I take him to the couch and lie with him for a while and after a while he will finally fall asleep. Once in his crib, he will be up again about 3 hours later, and I just dont like to let him cry, he throws up when he does that after a few minutes.. I will try that sleeplady.com if it gets worse, thanks so much for the other suggestion. As for his nap times, he takes two 1.5 hour naps during the day. One around 11 and the other around 3 or 4.
I would just like to get it under control before his little brother/sister arrives so I can get just a little sleep. I also work long hours so I want to try to not let this affect my work. I can handle 6 hours of sleep, but lately I havent been so lucky. Thanks again so much for the help. ) I dont know many other people with children so this is very much appreciated!
