My labour day was a tough one (march 27th), emergency c-section. Anyways, the day after I had my little man I had this little pain under my left boob everytime I took a deep breath. I didn't think anything of it, just thought it was one of those little sharp pinching pains when you breath - Well the pain seemed to get worse and worse and this past Monday night I tried to go to sleep but was in too much pain, I couldn't really lie down - at about 5:30am - I woke my DH and told him we had to go to the emergency, and I almost made him call an ambulance. I could barely take a deep breath or short breaths without being in extreme pain. When I got into emergency, they did blood work, a chest xray, and a ct scan. They wanted to see if I had blood clots or phemonia. It turns out I have a partially collapsed lung on my left side. The only reason it probably happened it pregnancy and labour. Apperantly my body did not like expanding, then shrinking - not to mention the c-section. So they gave me a strong anti immflamitory (bad spelling), and I was on my way home (still in pain). This of course messed up breast feeding, I couldn't do it because of the stuff the injected me with from the ct scan - and the prescription was not tested on breast fed babies. My doctor put me on regular extra strength Advils instead, so I could breast feed. Fun stuff - making me think twice about having another baby. I may have to stick with one. Lesson I learned, don't wait till the pain is so bad that you end up in the hospital.....again.
