Need opinions please

DH and I originally decided not to tell anyone until the first u/s. Part of the reason is because he wants to tell his parents in person (they live out of state) and doesn't thinks it's fair my family knows a month before. This has been increasingly difficult for me. He doesnt always understand where I'm coming fromanIs it would be nice to have someone else to talk to. I asked him today if it would bother him if I told my bff. He got so upset with me because that wasn't our plan, blah blah blah. My question is do you ladies think that I'm being irrational in wanting to tell one person? I am so emotional at this point I don't know if I'm being dramatic or what. BTW our u/s isn't for another 4 weeks. TIA

I don't see it as a big deal for you to confide in someone like your BFF, especially if you know she won't tell anyone. I can see why YH wants to tell both parents around the same time, so maybe telling your BFF can be a compromise?

Thanks, he just doesn't get it. I'm gonna talk to him about more tonight.

I think YH really should compromise with you & let you tell your BFF. That's a big (& hard) secret to hold onto for 4 more weeks, and it really is wonderful to have a friend to talk to about it. I think you should explain to YH how much it would really mean to you to share with your BFF, hopefully he'll understand.

I don't think you are being irrational at all. I had to tell a close friend that lives nearby too, mainly because I didn't want to go through this alone anymore. I have SO many questions, so once I told my Mom, I felt a rush of relief because I can call her and get my pregnancy questions answered.

I don't think your wrong to feel the way you're feeling. I've already told a bunch of my friends and I honestly wouldn't listen to MH if he told me not to. It's my pregnancy too and I think I should be allowed to tell whoever I want to. I hope you can work out a compromise b/c this is such an exciting time and us women NEED to share!!

Thank you all! I'm so grateful for this board Im going to encourage him to tell one of his friends and see how that goes. If he still doesn't get it i'm telling anyway!
