Any creative ideas on how to break the news to family/friends that would involve the first child?  I've seen ideas about getting a "I'm gonna be a big brother/sister" shirt and related ideas, but I'm curious about something possibly funny or that will reallllllly shock 'em. 

How did you tell or are planning to tell?!

This is baby #1 for me but I just found out yesterday that my sister is expecting baby #2 and we are due 4 days apart!  Our plan to tell our mom is to get my neice a shirt that says "I'm going to be a big sister" and put it over a shirt that says "I'm going to be a big cousin."  Let my mom see the sister shirt first and get all excited then have her take the shirt off my neice to "save it" and find the cousin shirt underneath.  Hope it works as planned!  You never know with a 3 year old!

We did the tshirt for DS when I was Pg with DD.  We were seeing the whole family in one weekend so we just had him wear it and make the big reveal.  they loved it. 

Not sure what we'll do this time.  I'm thinking of taking pics with them holding signs or making a video to email around.

Oh yeah she is!!!  We both had to lie and tell her we were out this cycle so we could plan something out.  We're both just so excited because my grandma passed away unexpectedly in January and this will give my mom something to be really excited about on Mother's Day!

I've been unsuccessfully trying to figure this out too! I was thinking of trying to teach my DD to say something on camera and playing it in front of everyone. It wouldn't be too out of the norm for us to AW DD doing things on camera

You creative ladies make me want to puke... JUST KIDDING, that's actually the all- day sickness I'm feeling. I'm creative, but not when it comes to announcing being pregnant. I just say, "I'm pregnant!" However, this time around we told my MIL when my SIL & she started talking about another grandchild, out of nowhere. My MIL said she needed just 1 more grandchild, being from her daughter who has no kids. My husband then said, "What does that mean? That you don't want us to have anymore kids?", & she said, "Well yeah, but later." My husband replied, "When is later, like in 9 months?," she said, "When I can afford it." & laughed, I said, "Will you be able to afford it in 9 months?" That's when she had her "AHA moment", asked if I was pregnant, screeched with joy, then happily announced to the entire reception hall full of people where we were at that she was going to be a grandma again because I was pregnant. Not exactly creative, but it made me smile (& blush like crazy!).
