and i'm so glad i don't have to do that again tomorrow
went after morning nap. met a friend there with her 11mos boy. it was crowded and hot, strollers galore. (aside - zoo is a great place to browse strollers). think they saw pink flamingos and a zillion people. they napped (only about 45 min) in the BOB. cover is great on that thing, and i also clipped on a lightweight blanket to block out their view at nap time.
was nice to see my friend and to get out and do something out of the ordinary, but definitely not something i would attempt very often, given the nap disruption, and my own exhaustion.
kids are kind of testy now, and i'm hoping they sleep well tonight!
Re: took my 10mos to the zoo today
i dread and look forward to this day!
Me, too.
Hopefully the one nap will be a good 2-3 hrs!
i figured that if they both had meltdowns that lasted a good 20min then i'd get my butt in the car and go home. IF that happened, they'd likely fall asleep in the car. if they didn't fall asleep in the car, then i'd try for a nap at home. if that didn't happen, then put them to bed early. not ideal, but didn't want to feel like the world would end if it was a bad day.
covering their view probably helped cue them to nap. vivienne messed around and complaining for about 30min (but only a little crying). audrey cried for 2 min and right to sleep (just like at home).
I took mine to Walmart yesterday to get Level 2 nipples. It was pretty much like going to the zoo.
It was hot yesterday! I can imagine the zoo was roasting. Glad that's over!
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
how'd it go with #2??
Haven't tried them yet. Sophia's on deck with her next feeding. We'll see. But I am convinced this is why they have only been finishing like 2 oz at a time the past few days, yet they suck forever. We'll see!

i thought the day went well, just alot of work, and not ideal. you might actually have more luck at 6mos, and maybe get them used to it! an earth day thing would probably be better than the zoo. grassy areas to let babies out and to sit yourself. you can bring your own food if you want. and having dh makes a big difference. i did yesterday on my own. friend didn't help with anything, except she did watch the kids so i could use the bathroom once that WAS a help.
i try to rotate who naps in the PNP, so that both babies are used to that. when we travel at the end of summer i hope they will adapt. sleeping on planes.... eeesh, i just don't see how that happens... hoping.
these are the blankets. large enough to cover a side by side, and very light weight so as not to cook the babes... i'm sure it's hot in DFW.

got mine at target last year. or, you could cut up an old sheet. i just was worried about too hot = no sleep. i used those big office clips to hold blanket in place so i wouldn't have to keep messing with it.
