What was your favorite "post-labor' gift?

I am a regular on TTGP but wanted to ask you ladies about this.

We have a close friend who is due to have her first baby any day now. We plan to visit her soon after she has the baby and I would like to take a gift of some sort and I would like for it to be different than the norm, but special and something she/they will really enjoy.

With that said, what was your favorite gift you received after you LO was born?

I haven't had LO yet, but I imgagine I would love gift certs for places to eat.  Especially places with take out (Outback, Macaroni Grill, etc). I don't know how special or out of the norm they are, but already I have no desire to cook, I can't see that getting better once LO is here.

I also looooved this gift.  The bottom of the shoe allows you to write the baby's name, birthdate, etc.  It's so beautiful, so sparkly, such a lovely keepsake, and was honestly one of my favorite gifts.

It was soooo nice knowing that I didn't have to worry about dusting/mopping/cleaning the bathrooms etc, I'll probably get it for my friends when they have their LOs.

Love this idea.  Where can I find friends/family like that??

I got a one time house cleaning gift certificate and that was the best thing ever.  I was so tired when I got home and I am a real neat freak so having my house professionally cleaned was better than words could describe.

My brother & sis-in-law went to Things Remembered and started a charm bracelet for me with DD's name & b'day engraved,  It also had her birthstone crystal dangling.  I really love it and wear it all the time.

DH got me potted tulips, hyacinths and an easter lilly. I LOVE them, because I can plant them in the flower beds and have a little 'Austin Garden'!
