I keep seeing all of you talk about NST's and I was wondering what those were. I have a doctors appt tomorrow and I am trying to put together questions for this visit. I am also going to ask for an increase in my mg of glyburide. This is when normal pregnant women get GD and I feel my levels going up when I eat food that normally didn't make my levels spike. I have already aksed about induction and my doc says LO is growing on schedule so no worries there (yet). Any help from you ladies would be great! This is my first pregnancy so I am not sure what to ask this late in the game. Thanks!
Re: Just curious.....
NST (nonstress test) is just a test to see how the baby is acting while you are at rest. It takes about 20-30 minutes and it assesses fetal heart rate and fetal movement. Also they will hook you up to the same machine that will measure contractions when you are in the hospital to see if you are having any contractions. They are looking for the heart rate to increase with movement at least 2 times during 20 minutes. I hope that helps with your question. Its just making sure baby is ready and can handle labor. GL
