Dh and I are currently TTC but we think we have names for out not yet conceived children. DH's grandma's middle name is Evalyn (although we may spell it Evelyn). I really like the name, but our last name ends in -son, so it's abut rhyme-y. We'd probably shorten it and she'd (if we ever have a girl!) go by a nickname. Neither of us love Eva or Eve, but we both like Ellie or Ella. So...is Ellie/Ella too much of a stretch from Evelyn?
Our boy name is Theodore (theo), also a family name.
Re: Evelyn/Evalyn
I like both spellings, but would pronounce them differently. Evelyn(Ev-ellen) or Evalyn(Eva-lyn)(short a sound). Just me? I think Ellie or Ella are too much of a stretch for a nn. Do you like them by themselves? You could just go with that. I REALLY like Theodore with the nn of Teddy.
I agree with all of this.
