ok. so google is kind of my friend but getting me all worked up over these digestion issues lately.
i'm trying the GF diet and it seems to be working and it has really pointed out that eggs are BAD for me. but GF doesn't seem to be doing anything other than keeping me hungry all the time and hating my DH for eating things i "can't" have in front of me. lol
i'm still having a problem with some dairy (not all). Mostly straight milk, ice cream, etc. but i can eat yogurt and baked goods (even containing eggs) without a problem.
anyone else develop an egg and lactose intolerance around age 30? or could this be a symptom of something else? (like my un-friend google says: parasites, medications, etc.)
i'm going to talk to my doctor about it on Thursday (next week) but i thought i'd get your input since we tend to be a "what you eat" conscious group.
Re: not gluten but eggs?
i just think its weird that nothing else in my life has changed lately and yet i'm having trouble with milk and eggs all of a sudden... lol (well. except i turn 30 in 3 months)
my sister has some serious digestion issues with just about everything she eats, we're a weird family. unfortunately she doesn't have more than basic health coverage so her dr. visits are pretty limited to her yearly and emergency visits. so i don't know what her deal is... so its even harder to give a medical/family history when you just don't know.
Well my dh didn't develop lactose intolerance until teenage years (he has since outgrown it I guess you can say)
And FIL didn't get it until his adulthood (I'm guessing around 30) and he, too, has been able to re-introduce milk products without a problem.
Maybe it's a temp thing for you too?
I'm GF too. My doc told me that most people with a gluten intolerance will have a casein intolerance. casein is the protein found in eggs. Maybe you should look into that? not all gluten free stuff is casein free.
