I sent mine out at 5 weeks. Life is busy with a newborn! People will understand. I don't think it's too late at all for a birth announcement...after all, it's a momentous occassion - a new life!

IMO it's too late to send "birth announcements", but I waited too long too, and just sent out Easter cards to everyone. You could send a "Welcome Baby, Welcome Spring" type of announcement though.
I am just ordering mine this week. I wanted to use her newborn pictures we had done at 12 days. It took two weeks from that date of the shoot to get the proofs and we just got the digital neg and rights for the pic we wanted for the birth announcement so you are fine. She was born 2/18.

I don't understand why it's too late - it's a new life! It's not like all the people you send birth announcements to didn't know you had a baby.

Thanks ladies, I feel about a million times better now! Between taking care of LO and moving into a new house, I was afraid I'd missed out...yippee! I'm going to order them today:D
I have been super busy with a bad reflux LO so I am just sending hers out this week and she is 8 weeks today. Oh well they will still be happy to have the picture!
I sent mine out after 2 months. People were totally excited to get them, regardless of how long it took me.
I also know someone who does really awesome (and cheap) birth announcements. Her stuff is really awesome and she gets it done ASAP. You can print them yourself or she can print them and provide envelopes. Just throwing that out there.?

This makes me feel soooo much better, because I haven't sent mine yet and desperately want to!
