Cramping, cramping, cramping!

Is anyone else having awful cramping? Mine comes and goes like my old monthly period cramps would, but they are 100 times worse at night and they completely incapacitate me!  I worry that it's not normal, but my first doctor visit isn't scheduled until April 22nd. Can anyone provide some insight?

I have cramping, but no where near that bad. I would call ur doc tomorrow if they are really really horrible. Some cramps are normal, and generally you shouldn't be alarmed unless there is blood along with them, however my ob told me to call if I have any severe ones.

i've had some bad ones too.. they come and go but at night, they've woken me up and kept me up for like 15 minutes or so. i've heard it's normal, but if they're so bad that you can't walk, or you also get severe bleeding, that's when you should worry. otherwise, it's just normal pains from your uterus expanding..

I have had, what feels like, very mild period cramps since the middle of last week. Last night I woke up from horrible 'cramps' turns out it was gas, sorry if tmi. It felt exactly the same as the cramps but a lot worse. I read on another board quite a few people feeling the same thing and realizing it was just gas. Maybe that was the problem?

I have had some mild cramping but then last night they were so bad they woke me up.  Once I got up and walked around, it was better.  I think it was gas honestly.  I have IBS already, and I have heard that the hormones really slow down your digestive system too.  The Dr says I can take Gas-X, which really helped and that's why I am convinced it was only gas.  They felt like terrible peiod cramps but I have had them before I was pregnant and even though they feel the same they were actually gas then.  Sorry if TMI!

I have a lot of cramps, but they aren't that bad.

I have cramping, but never painful. And I only seem to notice it if I am "thinking" about it. Otherwise I don't feel a thing. Can you possibly get in to the dr. sooner?

I've had some mild ones, but nothing that keeps me up at night or leaves me reall uncomfortable. A friend of mine got them that bad though, said she was scared to death every time she ad them and 3 weeks ago her baby boy was born perfectly healthy.

As long as no blood is accompanied with them you are probably fine, but you should still verify with your doc if they are that horrible.

Hey, I am just peaking in from over at October Mamma's (I like to see what all the other boards are up too..haha). I just wanted to let you know what when I was around the same point in my pregnancy as you I had HORRIBLE cramps that would literally make me keel over. I went to the ER and my F/MD about it and they both said that as long as there is no blood and your abdomen isn't tender to touch it can just be the muscles in there streching and the hormones getting everything ready to make a baby. I just wanted to let you know you aren't alone!

I just want to thank everyone for all your advice and kind words!!  I hadn't thought about it being gas, but once I started thinking about it, that definitely played a part. I also noticed they weren't as bad if I really scaled down on my sugar intake.  As of now, they are virtually gone. I am feeling A LOT better and am counting down, less than 2 weeks, until my first ultrasound. I feel like it will NEVER get here!!!    We are waiting until then to tell people, so I am bursting at the seams!!!!
