    wool is waterproof/absorbs up to 70% of its weight in water, and it is incredibly breathable, so it makes a great waterproof layer/cover.

    a lot of people just take it a step further and turned the 'cover' into pants to cut down on the bulk. plus, they are CA-YOOT.
