We have a recaro. It is easy to use and sits pretty high compared to other convertible car seats. It is also very well padded and comfy for DD. It seems like it will get kind of hot in the summer time because of the material it is made of on the cover (almost a velour type texture). It hooks us easily and the harness is easy to use. Overall, I'm satisfied. dh got a deal on it from albeebaby.

The Boulevard we have in my car has that kind of padding and he seems to be ok in it for now. With DH working now we need something for his car for a few days a week. Thanks for your help.
They have a good safety reputation. I ordered a Recaro Como off diapers.com when they had a sale over the summer. The thing was HUGE! However, the interior itself is narrow for the baby.
I returned it a bought a Britax Marathon, which believe it or not, is smaller and lighter. I drive a Subaru Outback wagon so it's not a small car, but DH's seat was pushed up against the dash with the Recaro rear-facing in the middle seat position. If you drive anything smaller than an SUV or have a large baby, I don't think it would be a good choice. Just my .02
