Dang. Phase 3 of potty training

DS can pee and poop in the potty, but now we're on to phase 3--aim. I told DH this is one part he is really going to have to help with, and he is helping....but UGH! Tonight DS went in and started peeing before I got in there-he peed all over the toliet, trash can, floor and wall. *sigh* he's got some powerful squirt power LOL! On the upside, my bathroom is cleaned for the 2nd time this week and smells bleachy-clean :)

  • Uggg!  They weren't kidding about boys and the toilet seat (and everything else in the bathroom)

DS is daytime PT however he doesn't stand yet...I can't figure out how to get him too...

  • We potty trained ds sitting on the potty first. He holds his swizel stick down every time.

He is a great aim when standing too. Maybe you could throw some cheerios in there and ask him to aim for them. Make a huge deal out of him hitting the cheerios.

DS has always peed standing. It was the easiest way to teach him (IMO). I just pulled the potty bucket out of the seat and he holds it right under his penis and angles it a little.... Works great!! When we're out I hold him up and lean him over the toliet a little (to aim it down a bit). I love that he doesn't touch the toliets at all! :)

I started Fruit Loops tonight, that's what sparked him trying on his own LOL. Normally he just pees in his bucket.
  • I swear, every time I babysit one of DD's boy friends I end up with pee all over the bathroom.  I am terrified of having a boy for this reason alone.

P doesn't sit on public toilets. What I do, is have him stand on my feet facing the toilet and he pees standing up that way. This makes him higher than what he would be just standing on the floor.

  • LOL hiker! BTW, are you still pg? Today was your due date right?
  • I've tried holding him up and he isn't comfortable.  He will be too short even standing on my feet.  He's my little 9th percentile baby both height and weight.

  • This is why DS sits to pee for now. LOL When he was standing, it was a big mess, so I make him sit. Smile

ETA: We stand in public as well. But, that's not my toilet and I'm not as anal about it. LOL
