infant/toddler bathing suits?

Do you just buy a swimsuit and the special swimmy diapers or do you use the type in which the bottom of the swimsuit is an actual diaper?

I saw the built in diaper ones on one step ahead.  Although they look nice, i can't help but thinking, what if Aubreigh poops in it?  Are we done with that whole swimsuit for the rest of the day?  I guess i could buy multiple bottoms....but cleaning that mess on vacation may be a hassel!

Just wondering your experiences????

I already know that i want a two piece for changing convience.

Thanks!

I had a couple last year when we took DDs to the beach.  One was a shirt and shorts that I used a disposable diaper underneath.  The other thing was to use a rashguard long sleeve shirt and then either a disposable diaper or a reusable swim diaper on the bottom.  But then again, I'm doing what I can to keep them covered and not doing anything cute.

  • I've mostly just used swim diapers - easier to take care of, especially if you're traveling.
  • My sister always used the disposable swimmies and they worked well, so I am sticking with that.

  • Gosh I never thought about poop. It's never happened to me. I really love the Speedo suits for babies. It's a swim diaper bottom with a spf mock turtleneck top and half fleeves. Keeps those little bits covered from the sun quite well.
