Name- Liz

Due Date - 5/29

Date Placed on Bedrest - 26w5d

Type -strict home bedrest

Why ? short cervix/bicornuate uterus/IUGR

Question of the Day-Any bedrest guilty pleasures?

Since DH has been grocery shopping alone(not a good thing) he comes home with so much sweet stuff.  Yum milk duds and redvines.  I justify it by telling myself it is to fatten up Madelyn!

Question of the Day-Any bedrest guilty pleasures

I've eaten way more ice cream and anything chocolate than I normally would.  I guess I also figure I'm trying to fatten up Mallory since she will be appearing at 34 weeks instead of full term.

I'm surfing the internet way to much!  Thankfully I haven't gone into shopping mode too much though!

I'm also highly amused that hubby has to do his own laundry since I've been stuck in the hospital for 6 weeks and I find pleasure in that!  Now if I can just get him to keep it up once we are home!

    Why ? chronic placental abruptions

Question of the Day-Any bedrest guilty pleasures?

I'd say watching, "Days of our Lives." I secretly try to plan my day around it so I try to eat lunch at that time. Oreos, ice cream, and nutella have been my downfall!

My rationale was that my baby was a little underweight but apparently I've been feeding him well b/c he's way over 50% now!  My MFM asked if I'd had my GD test after he saw the measurements so guess I need to cut back and start eating healthy again!

Update: Had some spotting but it has resolved.  LO flipped and is now head down - Yay! Baby furniture is in - now we're trying to figure out how to get it home and set up.  DH is starting to get overwhelmed taking care of the housework and everything.  I feel terrible that I can't do more to help and he'll make comments about the house being a wreck and I take it personally but don't know how to remedy the situation.  8 more weeks to go...

    Due Date - 5/31

    Date Placed on Bedrest - 3/13 @ 28w4d

Type - modified bedrest at home

    Why ? Pre-E/PIH

Question of the Day:  Any bedrest guilty pleasures?

Answer: I like that if I feel like taking an all day nap I can....this makes me feel guilty because SO is usually working doubles to make up for a small amount of what my paycheck would bring in, so he never gets any sleep.

Update: My doctor appt. was okay today. BP was really good 120/70 but I gained 4 1/2 lbs of fluid. And since I've continued to have my other symptoms--severe headache, dizziness, racing pulse, flushing, edema, seeing spots-- he put me on a BP medication: Aldomet, so I'll take that 2x a day. Luckily with this medication it won't affect LO's heartrate, so I don't have to worry about it harming him. I also got some labs drawn today to make sure nothing else is going on besides Pre-E

I didn't even have to demand the ultrasound, he wants one done to check the placenta and size of baby. So I go in at 7:45am on Friday for that. He also said that if my BP gets worse or my labs/ultrasound show up abnormal then he's going to refer me to a high risk doctor.

So I guess the verdict will come back next Monday.

Why ? PTL and shortening cervix

Question of the Day:  Any bedrest guilty pleasures?

Sleeping in has been awesome. I don't feel like I am in a rush to get up or be anywhere. I also am starting to buy lots of stuff online. It is harder to bargain shop online so I feel like I am spending too much, but I feel like if I don't buy the stuff online now it will never get purchased! I feel like at this point things just need to get done the easiest way possible so that is my excuse. :)

Why ? shortening cervix & history of PTL

Question of the Day-Any bedrest guilty pleasures?  the shopping is a LOT harder to resist when i have the internet at my fingertips all day long. i also spend waaay too much time on thebump! if i end up having to stay on bedrest i will have to develop some shopping restraint and more productive hobbies!

I have a dr appt on Thursday with ultrasound/cervix check. We shall see if I get allowed off of bedrest or not.

    Due Date - 5/3

Date Placed on Bedrest - 3/8 at 32 weeks

    Type - strict home bedrest

    Why ? Pre-e

Question of the Day-Any bedrest guilty pleasures?

Answer- I eat a lot more chocolate than I was doing before bedrest. I also take baths instead of showers (I get too dizzy and short of breath in the shower).

Update- I had an NST today and LO looked fine. I had contractions every 6 minutes (very regular and light to moderate intensity) so my OB was worried I was in labor. She checked my cervix though and I was only fingertip dilated so no labor.  I still have a UTI though and I was restarted on antibiotics.  I see my regular OB on Thursday to discuss induction dates and have another BPP Friday to check growth and fluid, too.
