G diapers

Hey mamas! I was hoping some of you had used G Diapers and could give me some feedback and opinions! Thanks!

Re: G diapers

  • Definitely my least favorite!  The taking care of the disposable/flushable insert is sooo much more gross than just changing a cloth diaper.  I also didn't like the looks of their cloth insert option when I had the luxury of seeing them in an actual cloth diaper store.  I do occasionally use the g diapers with a trifolded prefold though, and that is okay for laundry day.  I'd much rather use a Thirsties or Bummis with a prefold (a favorite combo!).

  • Awful. I used them for 3 months and they made me a complete convert to cloth! They leak and are wet to touch. Their cloth is flimsy. The elastic stretches out too fast. I could go on and on but my point is do your reasearch on them.

This is pretty much exactly my thoughts.  If you want to go this route I would do Flip covers with a gdiaper insert. The g diaper covers suck but the Flip inserts suck.  I would save your money and just get some BG 3.0s.  There isnt much bad you can say about those.

I haven't tried Flip disposable inserts, but the Gro-Baby disposable inserts are good also.

  • I recently found a website that sells G flappers - work-at-home-mom made inserts for G diapers.  I plan on trying them with my G diapers.  I don't love the disposable G diaper inserts, but I don't hate them either.  They don't hold very much, so you have ot change frequently....which can definitely get expensive with the disposable.  I'm interested to try the cloth inserts, but am a little wary of the G diaper inserts.  They just don't seem super absorbant.

  • Thanks gals! All the reviews Ive read were by people who hadnt been using them for very long and they just raved about them. Glad t hear from people who know what theyre talking about!

  • Are you looking to use them full time? We use them for travel & weekends at the beach. For that purpose they work great. THough if they had been around at the time, I'd probably prefer flip but since I have so many g's now. G it is for us. The gcloth is pretty weak but I got some good WAHM inserts called gflappers that are pretty good.

THe velcro doesn't hold great. I'm looking into converting mine to snaps but haven't found a good way yet.

  • I will probably be the odd man out, but I absolutely love them. ?I use prefolds in them. ?The only other diaper I like to use is the Organic OS BG. ?I do have to change the entire diaper when DS poops are not plopable, but I would have to do that anyway so it doesn't bother me.
