What happened to drowsy but awake??!?!

I miss it.  I worked so hard to get there.  It was wonderful.  I would feed him and put him down awake and walk out.  No crying.  Not a peep. 

He got a new tooth on Thursday and since Wednesday night every time I put him down the crying begins.  

I have been putting him down about a 1/2 hour later.  Could this be it?  Could it be the tooth?  He has been taking MUCH better naps lately.  Maybe he isn't tired when I put him down? 

I am so worried that we are starting a bad habit again.  I think he did this with the last tooth and I freaked and things went back to normal.  You would think this would calm me down, but no.

Ugh...I hate the fussing/crying.  I swear it's physically painful for me!  Fussing would be better but he will scream when I leave the room.
