Ear infection after getting tubes?

Has anyone's LO had an ear infection after getting tubes?

I think DS has another ear infection and he had tubes on the 17th. :(

    Jack got a baddie about a month ago (2 months after tubes). His reason for tubes was not recurrent infection, but chronic fluid behind the ear drums (we ended up in the ER once because of a suspected ruptured ear drum). It sucked, big time. Our doc said to use the drops leftover from the tubes if he had a hint of any infection afterward. It didn't help much, we needed oral.

    DS had fluid for 4mos and an ear infection that lasted 5wks with 3 rounds of antibiotics. The only way I know is he wakes up at night and gets green snot, which started last night.

    This is so frustrating.

    Olivia has had her tubes since July 2009 and hasn't had any infections.  I hope you are wrong about your LO ear infection....hope he feels better soon!

    LO also got her tubes on the 17th and has had goop coming out of both ears already. :( I'm planning to call the ENT tomorrow to see if she needs a checkup. This sucks. Hope your LO is feeling better soon!

    Tubes won't stop all infections.  It just helps the ear to drain so the infection doesn't just sit there behind the eardrum (which can cause all sorts of other problems).

    Put a call in to your ENT and see if they want to call something in for you or if they want to see your kiddo.
