December 2010 Moms

Anyone thinking of blogging/journaling?

I've never really kept a journal, but I'm considering blogging or journaling my pregnancy as a keepsake for my child. Is anyone else thinking of doing this or has already started?

Re: Anyone thinking of blogging/journaling?

  • I've already started a PG journal- it's a guided one called "Happy Baby Healthy Mom" or something like that and it has good questions to prompt thinking- also places to record Doctor's appointments and such! I am also going to keep a scrapbook of my growing baby bump! : ) I LOVE that sort of thing! Let me know what you decide!

  • I have acutally been keeping a journal since TTC.  It has been fun and I think it will be neat to pass on someday.  And today I get to add a new entry of a BFP!!!!

  • I have this book coming in the mail, but its more of an organizer than anything. I think I saw the journal you're talking about, Schick. Perhaps I'll look into something like that. Thanks!

  • I have been thinking about setting up another blog for the baby. I may do it tonight when DH goes to work.
  • Funny you should ask. We are on our way to the bookstore to get a pregnancy journal tonight! I keep having little thoughts or random symptoms that I really want to keep track of. Plus, what a cool keepsake to show the baby when it's old enough to understand how much I already loved it, even when it was as tiny as a poppyseed!
  • I don't think I will blog, but I do want a journal/organizer. I will choose one sometime this week!
  • We went to Barnes & Noble tonight and I bought The Pregnancy Journal: A Day-to-Day Guide to a Healthy and Happy Pregnancy.

I browsed a few, but I liked this one best. It's cool because it has a day by day explanation of what is happening to the baby, which I find fascinating. It also has places to note your mood, cravings, etc. For each day of your pregnancy, it gives you a tidbit of pregnancy information such as how to each healthy, how to help morning sickness, or how to ensure you don't get sick with a virus. It cost $19.99, but I think it is well worth it!

Example of today (Day 15 because they start it from the day of ovulation) "The primitive streak appears today (this is the forerunner of the brain and spinal cord). It is now possible to identify the head and tail sections of your baby's body....."

  • I bought a blank journal. I know I'll make a baby scrapbook so maybe I can put pages from the journal into the scrapbook. I wasn't a big fan of the pregnancy journals I saw at B&N. I might get one if someone here ends up really raving about one.

    Agreed!  My favorite journal too!
