Baby Showers

DH work shower - should I tell him?

DH's work is throwing a surprise shower for him.....I don't know when yet but my shower was last weekend and more things started coming off the registry today so I suspect it's soon.  He hates surprises - but I think it'll be nice that he gets a shower in his honor too!  Would you tell DH that stuff's coming off the registry so he knows it's going to be soon......or let him be surprised?

  • If he hates surprises, then why subject him to one?

This. I hate surprises myself; so I would want DH to tell me.

Ditto.  He's your first priority, not his coworkers who want to "surprise" him.

  • I hate surprises too - I would want to be told.  I agree you should warn your DH.

I really don't get why people think it is fun to throw a surprise shower - maybe for the hosts, but not for the guest of honor.  Personally, I would want to look nice and being on display makes me nervous, so I would want to get into the right frame of mind beforehand.
