If you are going to buy used, get a closed system like the lansinoh or ameda purely yours. They are the same btw, but different names.
Thanks. i am not sure what I'll get, but I am seeing alot of them on craigslist saying they were barely used and if its cheap enough and one that is closed, I'd consider it.

The Lansinoh Double Electric would be fine to buy used. It's a closed system. You can actually buy all the parts that would come in contact with milk (flanges, valves and diaphragm) on their website for fairly inexpensive if you want to be extra careful. I used it to exclusively pump for 5 months with DS #1 and have been using it once a day with DS #2. I loved it - have no complaints at all.
Re: Which breast pumps can you buy used?
I can only speak from what I own...but my Medela PISA is open and my Lanishoh double is closed!
(FYI, I bought my Lanishoh from drugstore.com for $100 with free shipping and people raved about it when I asked for reviews here!)
