If I found a job (that I totally loved) then I would stay at home. But I don't ever see that in my near-future.
I am a teacher so I am lucky enough to get out early during the day, have weekends, holidays, and the summers off. My insurance and retirememnt is fabulous.
And I love spending time with other people, other than the ones at Target, where I frequented everyday when I was on maternity leave.
So, I guess, no, I wouldn't stay home...

I workt PT and it is perfect. I could not stay home all the time. I may feel differently once summer is here since we have a small water park just 3 blocks from our house.
No, my ideal life is working part-time (outside of the house).

Absolutely, in a heartbeat! I've wanted to be a SAHM my whole life and working kills me every day......I know it would be a lot of work, but I would prefer it over working. I hate not being with Alexander more....
Probably not. I'm another for whom part time work outside the home would be ideal.

A stowaway on board!
I am a working and SAHM...if that makes any sense. I stay home M-F with DD and work on Sat and Sun. DH is home on the weekends. This way we do not have to pay for daycare. BUT, if I could be a complete SAHM...I definitely would!

What I'd really like to do is clone myself so I could work full-time and also be with DD full-time. Oh, and another clone to take care of all the housework and random errands would be nice. Yep, I think with about 3 of me I could do it all.
I'm a SAHM now, and honestly, if I could find a job I enjoyed that paid enough to cover daycare and some extra for bills or savings, I would do it. I love my son, but he drives me crazy most days. He fights sleep so he naps *maybe* two hours total all day but gets hella fussy when he's sleepy, and since DH takes it upon himself to work until 7PM or later every day, I'm at my wits end by the time I can hand DS over.

I am a SAHM and I love it. I thought I would get bored, but there is so much to do and I've been able to get to know other SAHMS in my neighborhood, volunteer with my church and do other things I would not be able to do while working.
Re: Honesty Poll.........
I would love to be able to work part time, maybe 7-12 every day and then have the rest of the day off to spend with DD.
Ugh. I really want to, but I'm afraid I'd go crazy as well.
Only if I could work from home. I would need something to take my mind off house work.

Ideal would be working a job with very constrained hours/days per week that I like as much as the job I have now.
Yes but I would have a hard time getting things done

This sounds like a dream!
No way I could do it! I would go crazy!
But I have the best working situation.
If I were in a job where I worked long hours, traveled, etc my answer might be different.
