Refresh my mind re:steroid cream

DS used to have eczema pretty badly and we were advised to use the steroid cream during flareups. He woke up with a flareup on his face.

Its been so long since we have had to use the steroid cream that I don't remember how many times a day is directed. Anyone know?

Re: Refresh my mind re:steroid cream

  • We used the OTC hydrocortisone cream and our pedi had us do it twice a day-first thing in the morning and once at night. She also said to use the least amount we could to cover the area and to keep it away from eyes, nose and mouth as best as possible.

This. We used the 0.5% OTC cream mixed 1:1 with vanicream lotion. The ped said that it would cut down the stinging from the cream to mix with a neutral lotion. We also applied twice per day, sometimes a third mid-day application to cheeks.
