Since the start of my testing, my only out-of-range numbers have been my post lunch hours. I test 1 hour after each meal. Breakfast and Dinner I rarely go over 105 (supposed to be under 130). But lunch is always out of range. I started glyubride 1.25 mg a week ago and while it brought my numbers down about 10 points to around 150. I can eat the same exact meal I had for dinner the night before, or cut my carbs down to the minimum and still end up high. It doesn't seem to matter if I walk or not. I started testing 2 hours after to see, and at 2 hours it's around 100, which I've heard is pretty good. The nurse called Monday and suggested I up my dose to 2.5mg before lunch, but said I can give it another week to see if my numbers come down. I'm just so frustrated because no matter what I do the 1 hr is high...but the 2 hr appears good
Re: Lunch number frustrations
Maybe that's just your body's hormone rhythm and you surge at that time?
Have you tried adding protein or more veggies? Sometimes it can also be a balance thing.
Another idea- are you working? I have noticed my numbers are consistently higher during the week (when I'm at work) than they are on the weekend (at home) regardless of what I'm eating. It is clearly a stress issue for me.
I feel your frustration! I swear I'm just playing a stupid game trying to keep this under control.
I feel like I've tried everything. I eat so many vegetables I may turn into a rabbit. Plus the dietician read my recorded meals, and says the balance is perfect.
And I do work, and have noticed something similar. I've been trying to ease the stress a bit but I'm an attorney with a lot of deadlines, so sometimes that's difficult.
yeah I haven't been able to help the stress either. Careful though cause I know some women have been put out of work because of the stress! Take walks or whatever you can to feel better.
